Modern Warfare 2 Part 2, Prestigeing

Prestigeing and what it really does:
It seems that Infinity Ward is particularly unclear on what prestigeing is and what it does. And they almost make it sound like a bad thing. Which has led to some people (in my experience) not doing it, so I'm going to try to explain what the good and the bad things about it are from my perspective.

I am only first prestige, almost second, so I will tell you what you get for first now, and second in a little while when I earn it (very soon!).

Heres what you gain for first prestige:
- you go back to level 1 with pretty much what you started the game with (I say you go back to level one but you can also look at it as level 71 because in "no prestige" you go from 1 through 70, so it could be called back to 1 71 or level 1 prestige)
- you get to keep all your titles and emblems
- you get a extra class slot
- you get a new group of challenges called prestige
- you get 2 new challenges for each weapon which will unlock new weapons titles
- you get the ability to earn secondary weapon titles
- you get many new titles along the way which you could never get if you were not prestige

So, then, what's bad about prestigeing? I don't thing think there is anything bad about it except maybe that you lose all your weapons and weapon attachments (oh, and you lose your custom class names, lol!).

  1. Great Blog Dryst!! very impresive. I like your report on MWF2 prestige.
I mean...what is bad about it? nothing really.
I do agree with the cage matches and the "cheating" ability. but there will always be gamers looking to bulk up their experience the fastest and easiest way possible. As your level inreases and your experience goes up there are more weapons to get and more maps to unlock. so, I think this is why alot of gamers do the cage matche cheating so they can get to those cool things. do you agree?

  2. well i think when they started mw2 they did not intend for cage macthes to be a cheeting ground they intended it to be a place to settle gruges 1 on 1 but as it became a cheeting ground they dident think it was such a bad thing because they have tons of gliches to worry about and if a few thousand do it out of millions they dont really care

  3. Great beginnings to a great blog! Keep Going! If you like MW2, try Battlefield 2: Bad Company 2. A lot tougher, imho. Campaign is way more funny. Both campaign and online multiplayer are difficult at first. Once you get used to the bullet drop in sniper rifles it's wicked fun! Thankfully because of BC2 a bunch of the hackers in MW2 are gone...or at least for now...
